Death of Harper Carroll

The Washington Post, January 21, 1915. There are several inaccuracies in this report. It reverses the order of the wives (Eleanor Thompson was the first wife, Mary Lee Digges the second wife) and states that Harper was with the First Maryland Cavalry throughout the war. He served initially with the First Virginia Cavalry and was only listed as a member of the Maryland Cavalry when he was made aide-de-camp to General Richard Stoddard Ewell.
